I'm Starting With The Man In The Mirror

In just a few short hours, people all over America will gather in their respective houses of worship to celebrate and commemorate the Resurrection of our Christ. However, as I grow older and ponder the state of our nation and the world, I can't help but wonder do we really get it. Do we really understand that Christ's death on Calvary's cross was to make the world a better place? Do we really accept the responsibility that comes with having the privilege of being called Christian? Are we living each day like it is our last and with the purpose of leaving this planet a little bit better than how we found it? Are we striving to get rid of our own pride and prejudices so that we can be an example for somebody else?

Jesus' selfless and righteous acts at Golgotha is deserving of more from each of us. Regardless of who you are, a seasoned Christian, a new babe in Christ or just one of those annual "Easter" spectators, make this Resurrection Celebration more meaningful than it's ever been. Take this time to commit to becoming better so that our world can become better.

I don't know about you, but I'm starting with the man in the mirror.

  1. Self-reflection is probably one of the most difficult yet important tasks we can undertake. Each of us wears masks that are socially constructed. It is a true journey to see beyond the masks we construct to lead daily lives and truly engage our souls. Viewing the person in the mirror can be an informative experience. I wish all who read the post the best in your journey towards introspection of the self.

  2. There is no better place to start than with "the man in the mirror." When Christians see themselves for who they really are, it becomes very difficult to pass judgment on someone else...knowing full well that GOD in all of HIS sovereignty has forgiven us of our trespasses. Thank God for His Grace and Mercy. They are new and fresh every morning!

Pastor Bellow, the HFC Family thank God for you! You are a blessing to the body of Christ. Just remember, the worst is over, and "The Best is Yet to Come!" Stay faithful and watch God blow your mind!

    Love Ya!!!!
